ICP 03. Not tormented or daily defeating by you...
Good news. I think the ankle has finally healed completely. There was hardly any pain when I was sparring today (granted, a light spar as per Kabuto's orders). And after all the wait, there's only one thing I have to say:

It's about damn time.

Don't get me wrong, having a few moments to myself without overwhelming concerns to attend to was a nice change of pace. But things get restless fairly quickly when you're confined to your quarters, so to speak. It certainly did for me, at least. And there was only so much school work I could do before my head started spinning.

Well, at very least, I managed to hobble myself out to the Moon Festival to enjoy the Dragon dance and fireworks. And there's no beating the moon cakes. But I apologies, Miss Shizune, for slowing you and -- Mrs. Tanaka was it? -- down. I tried my best to keep up. I hope you enjoyed yourselves, though. And tell Mrs. Tanaka that I said thanks, but no thanks concerning her grandson.

In any case, this long awaited development means that I can return to work once more (I think...I can, right, Kabby? light work at least? *hopeful look in his general direction*). Hm. -smirks- I hope the world city is ready for that.

Don't feel bad about it, Tenten. Mrs. Tanaka told me afterward that she was glad to not feel rushed. And we both enjoyed sharing your company for the festivities. Don't worry about her grandson. I told her that you had your eye on someone else and hadn't wanted to offend her with a flat-out refusal. I just have to convince her that he's too young for me now.

>.>

Good to hear that you're back on you're feet though. :)

Heh, the way she was selling her grandson, you would think it was more about getting him someone instead of the other way around. But thank you for lying and softening the blow for her. I would hate to disappoint such a enchanting woman.

And I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Nice to get out of the office every once in a while, huh?

Perhaps. But I used to hear stories of what he was doing in junior high, so...no. She is pretty entertaining though. Has more stories than most of the people I know combined. I can only hope to be like her when I reach that age.

And yes. I sometimes start to wonder that I don't live at the Rising Sun myself, as much as I'm there. My poor Tonton is rather disapproving of my long hours.

That bad huh? Well, I suppose you can't expect a grandmother to think badly of her grandson despite all the things he's done in the past. But I did enjoy her stories. I wouldn't mind hearing more sometime again.

But count yourself lucky, Miss Shizune. I actually do live at the Rising Sun. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to be so close considering the business I do. But...so much for separating the professional from the personal, huh?

Oh! I didn't mean anything bad about him, just that I was in college hearing stories of her grandson just starting junior high. That's a bit too wide of an age gap for me.

As for the Sun, I'm a little surprised and relived that Sasuke hasn't insisted that I relocate. I'd rather not get into that particular argument and he might be surprised at my conviction to remain off-grounds. It's not like he doesn't own my apartment building anyway. My apartment may not be fancy like those here, but it's been my home for a very long time.

Ah, I see your point. Yes, that is quite an age difference. However, that supports my theory on Mrs. Tanaka's motives for attempting to find someone for her grandson rather than finding someone for us.

But from what I understand, you've known Sasuke for a long time. He trusts you. And so he would never force you to do something you were adamant against, for whatever reason you may have.

Me on the other hand...well, the term convenient comes to mind. It's not like I had anywhere else to go or other options to consider when the offer was made to me.

I'm inclined to agree with that theory. :)

Since he was...god...five? Six? I feel old now. And I see your point, but that doesn't mean that I don't have an irrational moment or two where I wonder if I'm going to have to move again. Moving has never had good memories attached to it for me.

There is something to be said for convenience, but as you pointed out, if you truely wanted your own place, I doubt he would oppose you in earnest.

I'm fairly certain moving will be unnecessary unless it is something you truly wish for. Sasuke may be demanding at times, but he's reasonable as well. Particularly where it concerns those closest to him.

And I'd agree that the same would apply to me as well. However, the Uchiha have become the closest thing to a family that I have. I think Sasuke knows and so trusts that I would never get such a notion into my head like moving out. And in all honesty, unless under the most extreme circumstances, it is not in my future plans.

Ok, so maybe she wouldn't. But still. A man in your position shouldn't be shirking his duties.

You shouldn't have been sparring on that ankle--and if you aren't careful you'll tear muscles.

No jobs.

B-but...I was careful. D8 And if you were truly honest with yourself, the tearing of muscles is exactly how people, weight-builders in particular, get stronger. The tearing of old muscles is how the body begins to build newer and stronger ones. 8|

...Or...at least, that's what I've read. >_>;

On a smaller, cellular level. Tearing muscle tissues is how you will end up in bed immobile until it is repaired.

You need to allow your body time to heal.

-sighs- But alright, Oniisan. I'll lay off the sparring for a while. But if my skills suffer from this break, I'll be coming after you only not. 8/
